Everyone knows the volcano that erupted in Iceland causing havoc for flights across Europe. The question however is does anyone remember the name of the volcano that erupted. Anyone?

It is Eyjafjallajokull. I don’t even know where to begin. There a barely any vowels and fj all over the place. I’ll be calling it ‘kull’ and you better know what I’m talking about.

Update: I think this sums it up nicely

Update 2: Some further digging around tells me that in the Nordic language, eyja means an island, fjalla means mountains, and jökull means glacier. Eyjafjallajökull = mountains with glaciers on the island.

The life of God is pretty well documented. Their stories are of someone who didn’t behave the way you and I would when faced with adversity. Essentially they teach the readers to practice enormous willpower, strength, patience, courage amongst many such qualities.

If I come across something amazing, I’ll hype it up a little more when I spread the word. The next person who hears my version probably adds a bit more. Eventually the final story is just a super glorified version of the original.

Imagine what happened to the stories of the Gods over thousands of years and millions of people’s interpretations and hype. So was God just really someone between us? Maybe years from now, people like Ghandi might end up being worshiped in temples.

So we are at the hospital doing an ultrasound and the doc’s like ‘You sure you wanna know?’ and the two of us nervously nod yes. Then she plays around with the machine for a while and comes up with an image on the screen and says ‘This one is easy, see, its a boy’. Snap! That would be photo 3 from the bottom she was pointing at.

So it is now down to the enormous task of naming the kid and my sis is throwing out the names from some online site. Anyway, listen to some of this. Achutya (poor kid will kill himself before high school) and Achintya (more mockery for him) and Balachandra (which decade are we in again).

Anyway, I think I’ll stick with VinVin’s suggestions. Yashwanth Anna and Balaraj Anna. Both so good, which one do I pick.

Tom Selleck set the bar for the moustache. Nowhere is it more evident than in Friends when Matthew Perry (Chandler) wants to grow one just to look like Tom Selleck (Richard). I guess if they had a moustache school, Selleck would be the poster boy.

Anyway, my dear friend VinVin is all psyched out about one since he saw Matador. Pierce Brosnan is no Selleck but still VinVin seems to be all taken in. Sooooooo, to prove to him how ridiculous he would look, I took on my own little photoshop project.

Oooh!

VinVin Before

VinVin After

Hmmm.. very interesting. I think VinVin looks really good. I think he should go for it. Heck, I think I should go for it. In my case however, a year would not be sufficient.

As you probably know I just got married. But there was one scary incident just before I did. I was sitting at home one day just thinking about my marriage and so on, basically the usual, 1 girl for the rest of your life and commitment and stuff, and I stated to feel something. I couldn’t quite place it but it was an uneasy feeling. I was starting to cringe. I had cold feet!

I was just begining to panic and my sis walks in. I told her I was thinking about the marriage and I had cold feet. So she turned off the AC and I felt better. Stupid AC.

So lately I realized that most of my friends have ADD (Attention deficit disorder, for those who are wondering if that meant that they can count). Sometimes I talk to VR and he says 1 thing, then he says something completely different. Has nothing to do with what we were discussing before. And other times we are talking and he asks something and I reply and after a few minutes he asks the same thing again and doesn’t remember our previous conversation. I got thinking and realized he isn’t the only one who is this way. A lot of my friends are the same. Maybe I just hang out with a bunch of weirdoes, which is partially true, but there is more to it.

And then it hit me. It’s work. I sit at work and I am supposed to work. But the crap I do is so retarded, I wonder why I went to 10 years of school, 2 years of high school, 4 years of engineering and 2 years of graduate school to do this. Anyway, what I was getting at was the fact that every little thing distracts me. Someone talking next to me, IM’s blinking, checking email every 2 seconds, surfing for that plasma TV I wanna buy for the last 2 years. I mean everything. I start out working and then I’m like “hmmm I should see if I can remap my keyboard”. Why would a sane man want to remap his keyboard?

Anyway, the point I was getting at was that if you don’t distract yourself to think “out of the box”, you will probably kill yourself or someone else at work someday. Or better yet, in the famous words of Milton (Office Space) “I’m… going to burn down the building”.

So my dear retarded friends, it’s not your fault. It’s Initech and those crappy ass TPS reports.
